Easy Shockwave previews

May 21, 1998
by Alex Zavatone

When creating Shockwave movies in Director, it is a bit inelegant to test the movie in a browser before you ftp it up to your web site. Normally, it involves save, find your browser, drag the copy onto the browser, wait, check out the movie in the browser, then go back to Director and reedit. Well, I recently posed a suggestion for Director 7 to make the process more elegant.

Almost immediately, I got a reply from Jeff Barnum, that through clever use of goToNetMovie, that a "preview in browser" could already be accomplished. With that solution and ten minutes to burn, I cooked up this simple miaw that will save and preview your stage movie in your preferred browser. Just open your movie on the stage and open the Previewer MIAW, click on "Preview in Browser" and your stage movie will load right into your browser.

Hope you'll find this as useful as I did.
